Assorted fossil shark teeth
Sharks appeared over 300 million years ago. Their skeletons are made of cartilage. which is soft and only rarely fossilised, but their teeth are very durable.
The specimens come from rocks in Morocco and vary from Cretaceous to Eocene in age - approximately 100 - 50 million years old.
